Blogs are good ways of raising awareness, but not in a preachy way - everyone has to find their own path.
Working in a quiet office compared to a noisy open-plan office is infinitely better when it comes to trying to concentrate - but those of you working from home will know there are different noises to contend with. Washing machines, neighbours, garden wildlife, cars etc. It's surprising how loud these noises get when you're trying to concentrate! TTR operates from a business centre in Huddersfield, but that doesn't stop the sound of life going on outside.
One of my colleagues on a course I'm currently attending suggested the use of binaural beats to help improve focus - requiring a short period of 'me time' at the start of a working session, just to zone out for a few minutes and prepare for the day ahead. You know what, it really works.
If you subscribe to an on-line music streaming service, check it out. It is a great way of preparing for the day ahead, and could help you cut through that background noise when there's a challenging piece of work you've been putting off. Binaural beat therapy is also supposed to help build long-term memory, presumably because you're committing new information to a sound pattern that your brain can help you recall later.
Happy Friday and stay safe.
